Hamsik agent rules out Napoli exit
The Slovakia international has been linked with a move away from the San Paolo in recent times, but according to his representative, he will not be switching clubs before August 31
The agent of Marek Hamsik has confirmed that the midfielder will not be leaving Napoli this summer.
The 25-year-old’s future has been the subject of much speculation, with reports linking him with a move to either Chelsea or Manchester City, but his representative Juraj Venglos has quashed the rumour mill surrounding his client.
“Hamsik is excited to play for Napoli and be a talisman of the group,” Venglos told Radio Crc.
“For several years, Marek has been here and he is happy because he has gained a lot of experience.
“This year, Napoli are stronger, the club have bought reinforcements since the departure of [Ezequiel] Lavezzi and [Walter] Gargano.
“They will fight for the Scudetto this year.”
Hamsik was on the scoresheet, along with Christian Maggio and Edinson Cavani, as the Neapolitans kicked off their Serie A campaign with a convincing 3-0 win away to Palermo on Sunday.
