The wing-back is overjoyed with his move to the Italian giants, who he believes have massive support in South America, and is keen to fight for silverware with his new clubAlvaro Pereira has voiced his delight with his transfer from Porto to Inter, and is eager to join up with his new team-mates.
The wing-back stressed the importance of the Giuseppe Meazza side's large following around the world, and it is because of that that the Uruguay international is most excited to get started.
"Joining Inter is a dream. You just cannot imagine how much this club is loved and supported abroad," Pereira stated to reporters.
"Inter are every player's dream and even more so in South America. I'm happy. The thought of playing for Inter is simply amazing. I can't wait to get the medical over so I can join the squad."
The 2011 Copa America winner also revealed that he is eager to win silverware with the Nerazzurri, and is confident he will adapt to his new surroundings thanks to the club's South American contingent.
"Let's hope we can win a lot of trophies so we can make the Inter fans happy," he continued. "I'll team up with [Walter] Gargano and [Fredy] Guarin, fortunately I have these friends here who will help me settle in with the rest of the squad quickly."
