Mazzarri targets Supercoppa victory
The Napoli boss is hoping that his side can defeat Juventus in the season's curtain-raiser on August 11 and add to the Coppa Italia they won last season
Walter Mazzarri wants his Napoli side to get off to the perfect start to the new season by defeating Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana.The Partenopei beat Antonio Conte's men 2-0 in the Coppa Italia final last season, setting up a date in Beijing with the Bianconeri, who qualified for the season's traiditional curtain-raiser by winning Serie A last season.
"We won the first trophy of my reign this year, and now, a few months on, we want to keep on winning," he told the club's official webiste.
"Success raises self esteem and brings home prestigious trophies. Juve want to win it too, but perhaps we are hungrier. Napoli miss the Supercoppa."
Napoli and Juventus face one another in the Supercoppa Italiana on August 11.
