The Lyon supremo has shot down claims that the Brazilian was in talks with the Partenopei about a summer switch, but admits the UAE remains a possibility for the wingerOlympique Lyonnais president Jean-Michel Aulas has insisted that Michel Bastos will not be joining Napoli during the summer transfer window.
Links with Serie A have begun to crop up once more for the 28-year-old, having previously been associated with moves to Juventus and Inter, and the Partenopei are the latest Italian club to have been credited with an interest.
However, according to Aulas, Bastos will not be leaving for southern Italy, as he does not expect Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis to enquire about the Brazil winger anytime soon.
"I know De Laurentiis very well, and I can say that [Bastos signing for Napoli] is not true," he told reporters.
While a move to Napoli has been ruled out, the supremo did reveal that negotiations with Al Ain are ongoing, and he will soon fly out to the United Arab Emirates with the intention of closing a deal for the player.
Bastos left Lille in the summer of 2009 to sign for Lyon, and has gone on to score 23 goals in 80 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants.
