The Paraguayan full-back is expected to complete a temporary switch to the Italian capital shortly, with the Giallorossi keeping the option to make the move permanent
Sao Paulo defender Ivan Piris is on the verge of completing a move to Roma after undergoing a medical on Monday, Goal.com has learned.
The 23-year-old right-back will join the capital club on a season-long loan after the Giallorossi agreed to pay €1 million for the Paraguayan defender, who has six international caps for his country.
The Italian capital club have also retained the option to buy Piris outright at the end of the season for €4m, should he impress.
Sevilla were close to signing Piris earlier in the summer, but Roma hijacked the Spanish side's bid for the player after negotiations hit an impasse.
He will become the fifth player to join Roma from the Brazilian league, following the arrivals of Leandro Castan, Jonatan Lucca, Dodo and Marquinho at Stadio Olimpico.
