Guidolin: Muriel must lose weight
The Udinese manager has criticised the 21-year-old by claiming that he is not fit enough to compete in the Serie A, and that he needs to shed a few kilos
Francesco Guidolin has told Luis Muriel that he cannot play for Udinese until he has lost a sufficient amount of weight to be able to play at the top level.Th Colombian is yet to play a match for the side after he was signed back in 2010 from Deportivo Cali, and has been forced to go on loan to Granada and Lecce, scoring seven league goals in two seasons.
And Guidolin has blasted the striker for not being in the correct condition in pre-season, and urged his charge to get himself in better physical condition.
"If he wants to talk with me, he should lose 5 pounds," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "I repeat, he does not speak with me until he has a physique of an athlete, he must work hard."
Udinese finished third in Serie A last season, and will have to compete in the play-off round to confirm their place in the Champions League.
