Lucio: Agnelli is right to say Juventus have 30 Scudetti
The veteran defender is of the opinion the Turin side should be credited with the landmark, and is confident that his new team have what it takes to compete on several fronts
Lucio has sided with Juventus president Andrea Agnelli on the subject of how many titles the reigning Serie A champions have won.Agnelli recently stated that the club do not recognise the Italian FA's (FIGC) methods of counting the number of Juve's Scudetti, and the former Inter defender feels his new side are indeed on 30 titles.
"Whether Juventus have 28 or 30 titles? The president has said the right thing on the matter," Lucio stated at a press conference.
The centre-half then went on to discuss Juventus' targets for the new season, and stressed that the Bianconeri will be competitive in every competition.
"We know it will be tough to play in the Champions League this year, there are always strong teams involved.
"Having said that, I feel that Juventus are capable of challenging in every competition we’ll face this year. We’re aware of the difficulties that lie ahead, but we must always maintain a winning mentality."
Juventus will open the 2012-13 campaign with the Supercoppa match against Napoli on August 19.
