The Slovakian midfielder is delighted to have committed his future to the Partenopei and says they can go on to win the Scudetto after lifting the Coppa Italia last season
The Partenopei failed to qualify for the Champions League for a second consecutive campaign last term, but ended the season on a high as they defeated Juventus in the Coppa Italia final.
Their success in the competition has given Hamsik a reason to believe that Napoli could use the triumph as a platform for greater things in 2012-13, but insists his side face stiff competition for the league title.
"The victory in the Coppa Italia has made us more aware of our worth," he told Corriere dello Sport.
"At the start of the season, everything starts from scratch. We know our worth, and that victory has boosted our self-confidence.
"My desire is still to win things. And that means pursuing a great goal. That is what the Coppa Italia was.
"What I want? I want to win the Scudetto, but there are at least four other clubs who can win it."
The Slovakia international recently signed a new contract until 2016 to put an end to speculation about his future at Napoli.
"Napoli was the choice of my life," the 24-year-old added. "I am fine here, I have always been and I will because I feel the support of the fans.
"I always wanted to remain at the club, and I am happy to be here."
