No Chelsea bid for Jovetic, says Fiorentina sporting director Prade
It has been reported that the Premier League side have made an offer of €25 million for the 22-year-old attacker, who has also been linked with a move to Napoli this summer
Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has categorically denied that Chelsea have made a bid for star striker Stevan Jovetic. It was rumoured that the Champions League winners submitted an offer €25 million for the Montenegro international, who reportedly wants to leave the Artemio Franchi this summer.
However, the Viola's sporting director insists that there is absolutely no truth in the story and stated that he has already grown weary of the constant speculation surrounding the striker's future with the club.
"Absolutely not, it's not true," Prade told Radio 1 when asked about Chelsea's alleged bid for Jovetic. "We do not know anything about an offer from Chelsea or any other team, Italian or otherwise.
"We are waiting for the lad to to return on July 1 and we will see what he has to say to us. But the rest is just gossip."
The 22-year-old Jovetic arrived in Florence from Partizan Belgrade in 2008 and has since established himself as one of the most exciting young attacking talents in Serie A.
