Allegri '99 per cent' sure Thiago Silva will stay at AC Milan

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly willing to pay €40 million for the Brazilian, but the Rossoneri coach is confident that the centre-back is not bound for the Parc des Princes

The Brazil international has been heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain in recent days, with the Qatari-owned outfit said to have informed Rossoneri CEO Adriano Galliani that they are willing to hand over €40 million for the centre-back.
However, Allegri cannot foresee Milan president Silvio Berlusconi allowing the club's most prized possession to leave.
"I would say that Thiago Silva staying is 99 per cent," the former Cagliari boss told Sky Sport Italia.
"He's the best defender in the world, three levels above the others. He would be a serious loss because he is a champion and there are so few of those.
"We should not forget that we have a president like Berlusconi, who has ambition, a desire to keep the squad at the highest level, and since he's a great connoisseur of football who has won so much, he knows that losing Thiago Silva would mean losing an important part of Milan."
It has also been reported that PSG are planning to renew their interest in Thiago Silva's compatriot, Alexandre Pato, but Allegri is also confident that the injury-prone forward will be staying put.
"One of our purchases for the next season will be Pato, who certainly has not forgotten how to score goals and who we practically never had [available last season]," the 44-year-old pointed out.
"[Kevin-Prince] Boateng has also been out for many games this season and he is a player of enormous quality."
Allegri led Milan to the Scudetto in his first season at the helm, but the Diavolo were beaten into second placed by a resurgent Juventus this year.
