Del Piero in talks with Montreal Impact - report

The 37-year-old is said to be considering following in the footsteps of former team-mate Marco Di Vaio and making the move to Canada

Italy and Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero is reportedly in talks with Montreal Impact about joining the MLS outfit.

The veteran trequartista is a free agent, having failed to secure a new contract from the Bianconeri, and has been linked with moves to the United States, China and Japan in recent months.

However, Del Piero could now be set to take up residence in Canada, with Tuttosport revealing that the World Cup winner is currently discussing the possibility of joining compatriots Marco Di Vaio, Matteo Ferrari and Bernardo Corradi at the Impact.

The 37-year-old attacker already stated that he has no intention of playing for another Serie A side, while Swiss outfit Sion admitted on Thursday that they were pessimistic about their chances of landing the former Juve skipper.

Del Piero has long stated his desire to experience another footballing culture before he calls time on his illustrious playing career.

The classic No.10 brought the curtain down on his time in Turin by playing an inspirational role in this season's title run-in before lifting the Scudetto on the final matchday, after a 3-1 win over Atalanta at Juventus Stadium.
