Branca confirms Palacio 'is an Inter player'
The Nerazzurri director follows up on Genoa president Enrico Preziosi's admission that the Argentine is on his way to the Giuseppe Meazza, but adds a medical is yet to take place
Marco Branca has confirmed that Rodrigo Palacio will be an Inter player as of next season after stating that he will be officially unveiled later in the summer. The 30-year-old's goalscoring exploits with Genoa have not gone unnoticed, as Rossoblu president Enrico Preziosi announced earlier in the week that the attacker would be departing for the Nerazzurri.
Now, Branca has revealed that Palacio will join the club, but the Inter director maintained that the deal has not yet been rubber-stamped, with the issue of a medical examination yet to be addressed.
"Palacio is an Inter player and will be presented later this summer. He has yet to complete a medical," he was quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inter president Massimo Moratti also commented on the purchase and feels the club have done good business to land the forward, but was less optimistic about landing Napoli's Ezequiel Lavezzi.
"Palacio appealed to us, he is a good signing," the patron said. "Now let's go step by step and see what the next moves will be.
"Lavezzi? I do not know much, I've been away. I believe that the offer [he has received] from Paris Saint-Germain is interesting."
