Stramaccioni: Inter will build a team to challenge for the Scudetto
The Nerazzurri ended up finishing sixth in the Serie A standings in 2011-12, but their trainer is hoping for vast improvement next term and for his side to be title contenders
Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni has stated that he is looking to build a team to challenge for the Scudetto next season.
The Nerazzurri had a disappointing 2011-12 campaign, finishing sixth in the Serie A standings, but their trainer is hoping to be more competitive next term.
"Inter are looking to improve and build a team that will allow us to win in Italy and Europe,” the 36-year-old stated to Corriere dello Sport.
“The Scudetto? The president is working with enthusiasm to sign new players and we have what it takes to compete for the title.
“In the nine games of my management we gained access to the Europa League, which is what Massimo Moratti asked for, and now we want to propel Inter back to where they deserve to be,” he concluded.
Inter president Massimo Moratti has already announced the trainer as the club's permanent coach after their 4-2 derby win over AC Milan earlier this month.
