Robinho has held discussions over Santos loan move

Links pairing the former Manchester City man with a return to Brazil have intensified after it was reported the Peixe president has talked about the proposal with the player
Santos club president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro has fueled speculation that Robinho's proposed return to the club where he made his name is on the cards, after admitting he spoke to the AC Milan forward on the telephone.

The 28-year-old is said to be keen to rejoin the Brazilian outfit in what would be his third stint at the club.

Despite having a contract with Milan until 2014, Robinho's stance has left Ribeiro hopeful a deal can be struck with the Scudetto runners-up.

"We chatted for a long time on the phone as friends, both about family and personal matters," Luis Alvaro confirmed to Lancenet.

"However, I admit to inquiring about the two-year contract he has remaining in Italy, and the possibility of a loan move back with us.

"Nevertheless, it still will be a very difficult deal to strike with Milan. Our objective is not to sow discord with the club we have an excellent relationship with."

Robinho is two weeks into his month-long holiday in Brazil, following the end of his Serie A season with the San Siro giants.
