Inter close to signing Rodrigo Palacio - report
The Nerazzurri are on the brink of securing the Argentine's services for an estimated €11m after fending off an approach from Roma in what will be Stramaccioni's first transfer
Inter are on the verge of signing Genoa's Argentine goalscorer Rodrigo Palacio, according to Corriere dell Sport.
The former Boca Juniors man is expected to ink a four-year deal in the coming weeks, and will be the first transfer made under new coach Andrea Stramaccioni.
Rumours had surfaced that a bid from Roma of €8 million and the co-ownership deals of Andrea Bertolacci and Gianluca Caprari had been accepted, but Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has decided to go with the Nerazzurri's offer of €11m instead.
The Ligurian club endured a nightmare season in 2011/12, going through four coaching changes and finishing the campaign in 17th place and just avoided the drop to Serie B.
Palacio, 30, signed for Genoa in 2009, and has scored 40 goals in 100 games for the club.
