Stramaccioni: Moratti has clear plans on how to help Inter return to greatness
The young coach has dismissed suggestions that the Nerazzurri patron is unwilling to invest in the squad as he assured that the club will be fighting for trophies again next term
Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni is confident that club president Massimo Moratti will take all the necessary measures to help the team get back on track next term. The Nerazzurri will miss out on Champions League football next season as they had to settle for a sixth-place finish in the table, but Stramaccioni has little doubts that the club will be back fighting for silverware again in 2012-13.
"Considering the situation we were in when I arrived at Inter, reaching Europe was the minimum objective. Now the season is over and we're all focussed on working to get Inter back to the place in the standings we deserve to be," Stramaccioni said to Rai Sport 1.
"Some people have suggested Moratti doesn't want to invest much in the squad for the future. Not as far as I know. In spite of how it might sometimes seem, he has clear ideas on how to return Inter to greatness.
"There was also a lot of bitterness over the defeat [against Lazio], but there's also the desire to start again right away as Inter should, by challenging for important objectives."
Inter will leave Italy for a tour to Indonesia on May 22, where they will play two friendly games against local sides.
