The Serie A side's representative has spoken positively of the much-derided forward, claiming that the Italy international can go on to become a top player in the future
Inter director Marco Tronchetti Provera has stated that the club's former striker, Mario Balotelli, has a great career ahead of him, but warned that whether he fulfils his potential "all depends on him".
After coming through the Nerazzurri youth ranks, the controversial striker was sold to Manchester City two seasons ago yet has been linked with a return to Italy after a spate of disciplinary problems.
Talking about the Italy international to Corriere dello Sport, Provera stated: "Mario is a young man who is starting his journey and has a potentially fantastic career in front of him. It all depends on him.
"I am very happy with City’s victory over Manchester United because [former Inter boss] Roberto Mancini is a good man who deserves to win in England too."
The representative then spoke about this weekend's derby against AC Milan and stated he could not choose between the Rossoneri and Juventus in terms of who he wishes to win Serie A.
"Are Milan favourites for this game and the Scudetto? We’ll see on the field ... a derby is always a derby. The truth is I can’t get passionate about whether Milan or Juventus win the title. I prefer to concentrate on Sunday’s clash," he added.
The game kicks off at San Siro on Sunday at 20.45CET.
