Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has confirmed that AC Milan are interested in signing Francesco Acerbi.
The Rossoblu co-own the 24-year-old defender with Chievo and he is currently plying his trade in Verona.
However, Acerbi's agent claimed that the reigning Italian champions were tracking his client and Preziosi admitted outside the Lega Calcio offices on Friday afternoon: "Yes it's true, he is of interest to the Rossoneri."
While the Rossoblu supremo admitted that Acerbi could well be on his way to San Siro, he dismissed speculation that reported Inter target Mattia Destro, who is currently on loan at Siena, could also end up in Milan this summer.
“Mattia Destro’s future will be Genoa,” Preziosi declared. “He’s predestined for greatness. I have always told him that he would do well.”
Destro is a product of the Nerazzurri's youth system and has been heavily linked with a return to Appiano Gentile, though Juventus are also said to be keen on the 21-year-old striker.
