thumbnail Hello,

The leader of football's governing body was in shock after the 25-year-old collapsed and died on the pitch during a Serie B match on Saturday afternoon in Pescara

Fifa president Sepp Blatter admitted to being heartbroken following the tragic death of Livorno midfielder Piermario Morosini.

The 25-year-old, who was on loan at Livorno from Udinese, died after suffering a suspected heart attack during the Serie B contest at Pescara on Saturday.

"There are no words to express what I felt when I learned about Morosini's death. I only have tears," Blatter told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Several Serie A figures, including Inter veteran Javier Zanetti and Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio, have paid tributes to Morosini, who was a former Italy Under-21 international.

All league games in Italy this weekend have been postponed following Morosini's death.
