Cagliari-Inter switched from Sardinia to Trieste

The Rossoblu are in dispute with their local city council over required renovation work on their home ground and president Massimo Cellino's plans to build a new stadium
The Italian Football League, Lega Calcio, has confirmed that Cagliari's Serie A clash with Inter this weekend will be staged in Trieste.

The two sides had been scheduled to meet at the Sant'Elia this Saturday at 15.00CET but the game has now been moved to the Nereo Rocco because of an ongoing dispute between the Rossoblu and the local council over required renovation work on the club's home ground.

"We have been working on the stadium for months and I had hoped that everything would be ready before the match against Inter," the mayor of Cagliari, Massimo Zedda, stated.

"Obviously, we would like all of Cagliari's home games here and not in Trieste. But the problems of the Saint'Elia are longstanding and we are trying to solve them."

There is now a possibility that the Rossoblu will play all of their remaining home games at the Nereo Rocco.
