Galliani asks for extra referees after Milan denied goals against Juventus & Catania
The Rossoneri director has written a letter to FIGC chief Giancarlo Abete in the wake of recent controversial decisions that went against the Serie A champions
AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has written a letter to FIGC president Giancarlo Abete to express his dismay with two recent refereeing decisions that went against the Rossoneri, and asked for the introduction of extra match officials at the byline in order to avoid further mistakes in future.Milan were controversially denied a goal in the 1-1 Serie A draw against Juventus last month after a Sulley Muntari header appeared to have crossed the line before being pushed out by Juve goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
A similar incident took place in the 1-1 draw versus Catania on Saturday when a Robinho shot was kept out by a Giovanni Marchese clearance, but television replays showed that the ball had completely crossed the line.
In the letter, published on Milan's official website, Galliani highlighted that the Rossoneri have now twice been the victim of a poor refereeing decision, costing them four points in Serie A.
The Milan CEO did admit that making mistakes is only human, but nonetheless asked the FIGC to take action following the recent events.
With Fifa yet to allow the use of goal-line technology, Galliani suggested the use of additional linesman behind the goal in order to assist the referee, a solution already used by Uefa in the Champions League.
Abete has yet to respond to Galliani's letter.
