Palermo president Zamparini: Hernandez and Ilicic not for sale, despite Napoli interest

The Sicilian outfit have produced some top-drawer players over the last ten years, but the latest crop of talented prospects will not be sold on according to the executive
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has stated that Abel Hernandez and Josip Ilicic will not leave the club in the summer, despite enquiries from Napoli.

The highly-rated duo are the latest in a long list of players to shine at the Stadio Renzo Barbera, but the Sicilian club's chief has refuted rumours that he will sell his stars in the upcoming transfer window.

"Aurelio [De Laurentiis] has called me asking if I had a few players for him, but I told myself that this year I will keep them all for me: even Hernandez is absolutely not for sale," the Palermo president told Radio Kiss Kiss.

"Neither he nor Ilicic will leave the Rosanero this year."

Zamaparini went on to predict the winners of this campaign's Coppa Italia and Serie A titles, and apparently does not rate Juventus' chances.

"Coppa Italia final? For Napoli's fans it will be very important; I predict a blue-stained Stadio Olimpico and a Napoli win. Mazzarri's team will succeed because they are technically stronger than Juventus.

"The Bianconeri were very strong at the start of the season, but it remains to be seen if they can keep it up. At this point I favour AC Milan for the Scudetto; I said this two months ago," he concluded.
