Juventus striker Alessandro Del Piero has spoken of his pride at reaching the Coppa Italia final, after his side drew 2-2 with AC Milan in a pulsating semi-final at Juventus Stadium, heading through 4-3 on aggregate.
The veteran forward scored a goal late in the first half to give his side a 1-0 lead, and told reporters after the game how happy he was to reach the final for the first time since 2004.
“It means so much to us,” said the 37-year-old, “I'm really proud [to reach the final]. It was nice to play tonight, and I think you all saw my happiness at getting the goal.”
He also threw down the gauntlet to the Rossoneri, with both sides battling for the Scudetto.
He added: “We will now fight on both fronts, and try to give them a hard time right until the end.”
Del Piero has been instrumental in Juventus' run to the final, scoring important goals against Roma in the quarter-final and Milan on Tuesday.
