The Italy international was pleased to see the Giallorossi put in an assured performance against the Sicilians, and says they must continue winning for the rest of the season
Fabio Borini's winner ended the capital outfit's run of two defeats on the bounce, and the 28-year-old was also delighted at the manner in which they managed to contain late Sicilian pressure and eventually hold onto all three points at the Renzo Barbera.
"There are still many games to go and we must try to win as much as possible," De Rossi told Sky Sport Italia after the match.
"Only through this way we can get ourselves ahead in the standings. It is difficult but not impossible.
"It was a nice performance, especially in the first half, and only towards the end did we suffer, but it was expected.
"If you're not careful, you always struggle, regardless of who your coach and what your mindset is."
De Rossi also reacted positively to the news coach Luis Enrique has pledged his commitment to the club for the foreseeable future, after being linked with a return to Barcelona in the summer as a potential replacement for Pep Guardiola.
"Between now and five years is a long time, and many things can happen and change. However, it is great news for us that the coach wants to continue his adventure here," he concluded.
Roma move to sixth in the standings following Saturday's win over the Sicilians.
