It had been claimed that Bianconeri had offered to take the Chile winger on loan in exchange for Luis Muriel, who is set to the return to the Friuli from Lecce in the summerUdinese sporting director Fabrizio Larini has dismissed a report claiming the club are considering taking Eduardo Vargas off Napoli's hands for next season.
Vargas only arrived at the San Paolo in January but the Chile international has struggled to break into the Partenopei first team and it has been claimed that Udinese have offered to take the winger on loan in exchange for Luis Muriel, who will return to the Friuli from Lecce this summer.
However, Larini insists that there is no truth in the story, telling Tuttomercatoweb.com: "I have just heard about this for the first time and I can say that it is a journalistic invention because we do not take young players on loan from other squads - and I do not think we will this time either."
Vargas had been considered one of the brightest young talents in the game when Napoli paid a reported €13.6 million to sign him from Universidad de Chile during the last transfer window.
To date, though, the 22-year-old Santiago native has made just four Serie A appearances for the Partenopei and coach Walter Mazzarri has already been moved to ask the club's fans to give the player more time to prove his worth.
