The Switzerland international has stated that he believes his team can qualify for Europe's biggest football competition again, but will need to improve their current form
The Partenopei defeated Parma 2-1 on Sunday in controversial circumstances, a result which leaves them in fifth place and five points behind Lazio in third spot, who occupy the final Champions League qualification position.
Inler, a summer signing from Udinese, featured for his team for the final half hour and despite being pleased with the result, he feels his side need to improve if they are to reach Europe's elite football competition again.
"So many players were involved with the national side and it was a 12.30 CET kick-off, it was not easy for us. But we have seen that even when not playing well, we can bring home three very important points - it is clear that we know we can do better," Inler told Sky Sport 24.
"We definitely believe we can finish third but we must keep our feet on the ground and we need to work harder, be more concentrated. Our next opponent will be Cagliari and we want to play like this because then we will have every chance to do well."
Napoli face Cagliari this weekend before taking on Chelsea in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 encounter at Stamford Bridge, with Walter Mazzarri's men taking a 3-1 lead into the game.
