thumbnail Hello,

The Colombian midfielder has not featured for the Nerazzurri since completing his loan move from Porto in January, but is reportedly in line to make his bow against their rivals

Inter are hoping to mark their crucial Serie A encounter against Juventus next month with the debut of Fredy Guarin, as the Porto loanee continues to battle back from his calf injury.

The January recruit has failed to make an appearance so far for Claudio Ranieri's men, having nursed the setback since November, but according to Goal.com Italy, the midfielder should be ready for the Derby d'Italia on March 25.

Guarin himself used Twitter to inform his new fans that he is nearing a comeback: "I am very close to joining the team and making myself available to the coach .. Thanks to everyone."

However, he will not be ready for Sunday's crunch match against Catania, and is not expected to be in contention for the upcoming meetings with Chievo and Atalanta in the league, while he is cup-tied for Champions League participation.

Despite his injury woes, it is understood that Inter are looking to build their midfield around the 25-year-old, and are willing to pay the 11 million required to keep the Colombia international on a permanent basis until 2016.
