The tenacious Italian midfielder has recovered from a serious eye problem earlier than expected, and took part in a practice session with his team-mates on TuesdayAC Milan's Gennaro Gattuso has returned to training, the club have announced on their official website.
The midfielder suffered from an eye problem known as ocular myasthenia, a disease of the neuromuscular junction, which is caused by a form of influenza which the 34-year-old is believed to have contacted during the team's recent trip to Dubai.
"Rino Gattuso, whose health has been steadily improving, joined the rest of his team-mates for today's training session," read a statement on AC Milan's webpage on Tuesday.
It is not yet clear, however, when the former Rangers player could return to action for Massimiliano Allegri's men.
Gattuso, who missed the top-of-the-table clash with Juventus on Saturday, has made just a single appearance in Serie A for the Rossoneri this term.
