The Brazilian defender said that he is not looking for a new challenge in his career and wants to become a club legend at San Siro
Earlier on Tuesday, the Brazilian centre-back was quoted as saying that playing for Barcelona was 'every player's dream', leading to suggestions that he had set his sights on a switch to Camp Nou.
The Catalan giants have long been linked with Thiago Silva but the 27-year-old insists that he wishes to remain at San Siro.
"I do not have any intention of leaving Milan," he told the club's official website.
"I like the idea of becoming a symbol of this club, following the path of greats such as Franco Baresi and Paolo Maldini.
"[Milan CEO Adriano] Galliani does not need to worry, Barcelona are just a rival for me."
The Brazil international joined Milan from Fluminense in 2009 in a deal worth €10 million.
