Thiago Motta has been left out of the Inter squad for Sunday's Serie A clash with Lecce at the Via del Mare.
The Brazilian-born Italy international started the midweek Coppa Italia clash with Napoli but his agent had claimed beforehand that it would most probably be his last game for the Nerazzurri, with the midfielder reportedly on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain.
Motta has now been dropped from the side to face Lecce, with coach Claudio Ranieri opting to field a 4-3-1-2 formation which sees Giampaolo Pazzini, who missed the trip to the San Paolo with the flu, return up front alongside Diego Milito.
Elsewhere, Lucio, who was also laid low by the flu in midweek, returns at the heart of the Nerazzurri defence alongside Walter Samuel, with Andrea Ranocchia the man to make way.
Yuto Nagatomo returns at left-back in place of Christian Chivu, while Julio Cesar takes over in goal from Luca Castellazzi.
As for Lecce, they go into the game without a host of players through injury, including Moris Carrozzieri, Manuel Giandonato, Luigi Falcone, Andrea Esposito and Julio Sergio.
Lecce (3-5-2): Benassi; Oddo, Miglionico, Tomovic; Cuadrado, Giacomazzi, Blasi, Olivera, Brivio; Muriel, Di Michele.
Subs: Petrachi, Diamoutene, Obodo, Grossmuller, Piatti, Seferovic, Bertolacci.
Inter (4-3-1-2): Julio Cesar; Maicon, Lucio, Samuel, Nagatomo; Zanetti, Cambiasso, Obi; Sneijder; Pazzini, Milito.
Subs: Castellazzi, Cordoba, Alvarez, Ranocchia, Chivu, Poli, Zarate.
