Inter defender Javier Zanetti has expressed his satisfaction with his side's 2-1 Serie A win at home against Lazio on Sunday, and added that the Giuseppe Meazza outfit never doubted themselves, despite the side coming under criticism.
The 2010 Champions League winners were heavily slammed following a disappointing start to the season, but Zanetti insists that Inter never stopped believing in themselves.
"There's no point in dwelling on the controversies created by others. The most important thing is the victory tonight [Sunday] against Lazio to continue this run of wins, which is crucial to moving forward," Zanetti was quoted as saying on the Inter website.
"Let's remember that a month ago many were saying that we would have to fight just to avoid relegation, that we were an old team.
"But we've always looked forward without stopping, and this is the result."
Inter have climbed to fourth spot in the Serie A table following the weekend's results.
