Palermo have 'verbal agreement' with Universatorio for Edison Flores - agent
The teenager's representative, Carlos Gonzalez, has confirmed that the Italian side are in pole position to land his client, and that the player could arrive in Sicily next year
.
Palermo are closing in on the signing of Universitario starlet Edison Flores, according to the player’s agent.
The 17-year-old Peruvian winger is considered one of the most exciting young talents in world football and he has been linked with a number of top clubs in Europe.
However, the player’s representative, Carlos Gonzalez, has revealed that Palermo are in pole position to land the teenager and that the only thing yet to be established is exactly when he will arrive in Sicily.
"It is true: everything is on track,” he told Goal.com of the Serie A side’s reported pursuit of the player. “There is a verbal agreement.
"But we are analysing whether the contract will start in a year or perhaps mid-2013. What we need for Flores is continuity. He is still only 17.
"The offer from the directors of Palermo is concrete and is the best of all the offers we have in front of us.”
The diminutive Flores has only racked up five appearances for Universatario to date but has already made a big name for himself because of his exploits with the Peru Under-17s.
