Juventus set sights on Sampdoria's Angelo Palombo - report
The Turin giants are looking to add some more depth to their midfield, and have allegedly earmarked the 30-year-old as a valuable addition for the squad
Tenacious midfielder Angelo Palombo could be on his way out of Sampdoria in the January transfer window as Juventus have shown an interest in signing the Italy international, Tuttosport reports. The Bianconeri are keen to reinforce in the middle of the park this winter, and have recently been linked with Fiorentina's Valon Behrami and Porto star Fredy Guarin.
Nevertheless, they have now allegedly turned their attention to Palombo instead as they consider the Serie B star to be a cheaper alternative to the previously mentioned duo.
The 30-year-old midfielder has made well over 200 league appearances for Sampdoria since 2002, and remained loyal to the club when they got relegated to Italy's second tier of football last summer.
The former Fiorentina man is now eager to return to Serie A in order to keep his chances of making Italy's Euro 2012 squad alive, and he would welcome the opportunity of moving to Juventus.
Palombo's current contract with Sampdoria runs until the summer of 2015.
