Ezequiel Lavezzi pleads for Eduardo Vargas patience after Napoli debut
Edu suffered a disappointing first 45 minutes in the blue of the the Italian club, but 'Pocho' affirmed it is the team's duty to help him reach his best
Napoli star Ezequiel Lavezzi lent his support to the Italian club's new arrival Eduardo Vargas, after the former Universidad de Chile man failed to impress in his debut for the side. The Chile international struggled in Napoli's Coppa Italia clash against Cesena on Thursday evening, and was taken off at half-time in a game eventually won 2-1 by Walter Mazzarri's side.
Writing on his official twitter account on Friday, however, Lavezzi pleaded patience from fans for the 22-year-old forward, and stated that with a bit of time to settle Napoli will see big improvements from the star of the 2011 Copa Sudamericana.
"[Vargas] is a great player, but he has to stay calm," the Argentine affirmed on the social networking site.
"As his team-mates, we have to help him to show his full potential."
Vargas finalised his move to southern Italy in the final days of December, after a brilliant season with Universidad saw the Azul Azul win both national championships in Chile as well as the Sudamericana.
