City rivals AC Milan and Inter are set to fight it out over the signing of 18-year-old Argentine forward Paulo Dybala, Goal.com can exclusively reveal.

Dybala, currently plying his trade for Instituto in his native country's Nacional B, has scored nine league goals in his 18 games to date for the club, attracting the eye of European clubs.

Last month, it was revealed that Claudio Ranieri's side were interested in snapping up the Cordoba native, but it now seems they will face competition from their neighbouring rivals at San Siro.

The player's agents, Omar Peirone and Gonzalo Rebasa, will fly to Italy for negotiations with both clubs over a move worth in the region of €3 million.

It is believed that Inter are currently in pole position to secure Dybala's signature, but the breakdown of Carlos Tevez's move to Milan has left Massimiliano Allegri in need of striking options.

Inter and AC Milan are also set to clash on the pitch in Sunday's Derby della Madonnina.
