Italy's Cesare Prandelli should not be ignoring Napoli's Paolo Cannavaro, says agent

Cannavaro has only ever played once for the Azzurri and that was in 2007, and his representative believes his client's international caps will not increase as things stand
Paolo Cannavaro's agent Gaetano Fedele believes the Napoli defender should be playing for Italy, but said coach Cesare Prandelli is ignoring the player.

Cannavaro has been in fine formfor Walter Mazzarri's men in Serie A and in the Champions League this season..

There have been calls for Cannavaro to follow in his brother Fabio's footsteps and cut an impressive figure with the Azzurri. However, Fedele feels Prandelli has his eyes firmly on other players.

"There is nothing more Cannavaro can do," Fedele told Radio Kiss Kiss.

"The coach [Prandelli] just does not see him.

"Despite Paolo doing brilliantly, I don't think he is part of Italy's plans."

Italy take on Uruguay in an international friendly on Tuesday at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Cannavaro has only been called up once to the senior Italy side. That was in 2007 for a friendly match against South Africa under Roberto Donadoni's leadership.
