The club's supremo has stated that the long-serving forward will not be wearing the black and white jersey again in the 2012-13 campaignJuventus president Andrea Agnelli has announced that the current season will be Alessandro Del Piero's last with the Turin giants.
The experienced attacker signed a contract until the summer of 2012 with the Serie A table toppers earlier this year.
However, Agnelli has revealed that Del Piero will not be offered the opportunity to continue his career at Juventus Stadium once the current deal expires.
"The unique link between the old Juventus and the new Juve is our captain, Alessandro Del Piero. He wanted to stay with us for one more year, and this will be his last season wearing the black-and-white jersey," Agnelli announced at a shareholders meeting.
The 36-year-old has yet to officially confirm that he will hang up his boots at the end of the season, but he is expected to end his playing career in the summer of 2012.
Del Piero joined Juventus from Padova in June 1993 and has since made over 650 official appearances for the Turin side.
