AC Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimovic & Antonio Cassano want more money, claims Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini
The outspoken Italian is taking aim at the Milanese forwards and believes their recent comments are motivated by wage issues as he looks ahead to the big weekend clash
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has offered his analysis on why AC Milan stars Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Antonio Cassano suggested they are on borrowed time in football. The Sicilian side travel to San Siro on the weekend to face the champions in Serie A and Zamparini is already firing the early shots as he takes aim at the two strikers.
Last week Ibrahimovic said he was growing tired of football; Cassano echoed the striker's sentiments on Tuesday when he set his retirement date.
However, Zamparini believes their comments are merely a ploy to squeeze more money out of their club before the January transfer window.
"I think they [Ibrahimovic and Cassano] want more money, they are so tired of earning a little wage," Zamparini snapped, according to Ansa.it.
"In any case, I hope the Milan players who usually make a difference have a bad game against us."
Palermo are fourth in the league with 10 points, while the reigning champions only have five points to their name. Kick-off at San Siro takes place at 2045 (CET) on Saturday.
