AC Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Juventus were better than us on all levels
The Swedish forward concedes that they were not as good as their hosts in Turin but warned that once the team overcome their injuries problems, they will be back to their best
AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has admitted that Juventus were deserved winners of their Serie A clash on Sunday evening but is confident of bouncing back quickly.
The defending Italian champions went down 2-0 to the Old Lady at Juventus Stadium in Turin, thanks to second-half goals from Claudio Marchisio.
And Ibrahimovic, a former Juve player, believes that their hosts were the better side on the evening.
“It was a tough game, they were better than us,” the 29-year-old is quoted as saying by Milan’s official website. “The result is the right one. They were better on all levels.
“We didn’t get our game together. Congratulations to them for a match well played.”
However, the Swedish star is confident that they will recover from this defeat.
“We’ll get back to work after the international break,” enthused Ibrahimovic. “We’ve had a lot of injuries including [Alexandre] Pato, Robinho and many others.
“We’re as good as we were last season, that’s for sure, we just need to be patient. When we get our rhythm back, we’ll beat them all.”
The defeat leaves Massimiliano Allegri’s team in 15th place in the league with just five points from as many matches, while Juventus are level with Udinese on 11 points at the top of the table.
