AC Milan enforcer Mark van Bommel says it was his side's courage that enabled them to snatch a dramatic 2-2 draw against Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The hosts dominated nearly the entirety of the match at Camp Nou but the clinical Italians scored at the very beginning and end to ensure that the points were shared.
Speaking to reporters at the conclusion of the match, the Dutchman praised the work-rate of the Serie A champions.
"With [Alexandre] Pato it went very well; he is very fast and quickly found the goal.
Then in the second half we found ourselves down but at the end Thiago [Silva] gave us an important draw."
The 34-year-old, who played for Barcelona in the 2005-06 season, went on to say that his team's gutsy display made coach Massimiliano Allegri proud.
"In the game we demonstrated the courage that the coach had asked us for."
