Club legend is eager to get started as he takes confidence from the way progress is being made during the summer as the players get back to work at VinovoJuventus captain Alessandro Del Piero is looking forward to the new season, confident his side will be in top shape for the Serie A kick-off on August 28.
There is a great deal of expectation surrounding Antonio Conte's side this season following last term's failures as they failed to finish with a European place.
But the new coach appears to have restored some balance within the squad following an active transfer campaign which saw the arrivals of Mirko Vucinic and Andrea Pirlo among others.
And Del Piero is ready to get back to business, happy with the way pre-season is going thus far with their opening league game away to Udinese less than four weeks away.
"The games that count are always getting closer and I cannot wait to get started," he told the press, as reported by La Repubblica.
"After the pre-season camp in Bardonecchia and the tour of America, the month that leads to the new season begins with our return to our training centre at Vinovo.
"I cannot wait to start."
Del Piero scored eight goals in 33 Serie A games last season for the Turin-based club.
