Ole reports that Campagnaro is out of immediate danger while a companion who was travelling with the player is also recovering in hospital.
The other passenger in Campagnaro's vehicle was pronounced dead on arrival after emergency services took them to the nearby medical centre. A female police officer and a prison guard were killed in the other vehicle.
The accident took place between the towns of Coronel Baigorria and Espinillo in the Cordoba province.
