The ex-Barcelona striker was in jubilant mood after his team's successful defence of their Coppa Italia as he gave assurances over his future with the former Italian championsSamuel Eto'o was in high spirits after his side's 3-1 triumph over Palermo which clinched the second Coppa Italia for Inter in as many years. The striker recorded a brace in this game to bring his tally for the season to 37 goals in all competitions.
"Thirty-seven goals is a great record, but retaining the Coppa is a sweeter achievement. I would like to thank both sets of supporters for the wonderful evening," commented the striker for Rai after the game.
The Cameroon international scored a goal in each half to put the cherry on the cake on a wonderful season on a personal level. The striker assured Inter fans that he will remain with the team in the next season.
"President Moratti [Massimo] commented on my future with the club, but after this magical night everthing is fine I am sure I will stay with Inter."
Tonight's triumph means Leonardo's men have collected no less than three titles this season. Despite losing the Scudetto to AC Milan, Inter wo the Supercoppa, the Club World Cup and finally the Coppa Italia to end the season on a high.
