The coach hails Italian playmaker and says he is the Gialloblu's very own Messi
'La Formica Atomica' has a similar stature to the 23-year-old Argentina ace, and Colomba feels the similarities do not end there as Giovinco has had a stellar season since joining on a loan agreement from Juventus last year.
"Would I like to train Messi? Of course. Although, to tell the truth, we’ve already got someone who really reminds me of him. It’s Giovinco," Colomba told the press.
The Gialloblu have already achieved Serie A safety but they face Cagliari in the last game of term, and Colomba urges a strong finish as he delays talk over plans for next year.
"I want to see a concentrated side that will go to Sardinia looking for a strong finale to the campaign," he added.
"It would be a shame to relax, seeing as we have the opportunity to further improve our position in the table.
"We will only start thinking about next season from Monday. I do have several players out of action, so will experiment with some new ideas."
Parma will be without the suspended Blerim Dzemaili. Alessandro Lucarelli, Amauri, Gabriel Paletta, Hernan Crespo, Raffaele Palladino and Fernando Marques are all injured.
