Italian titleholders in the market for a new full-back to replace the Maicon and Danilo is one of the leading candidates

Promising youngster Danilo could be on his way out of Brazilian outfit Santos in the summer transfer window as Italian titleholders Inter have shown an interest in signing the full-back, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

Leonardo's side are in the market for a new right-back to replace the ageing Maicon in the long term and sporting director Marco Branca reportedly considers the 19-year-old to be the perfect replacement.

Danilo is a product of the America MG youth academy and joined Santos in the summer of 2010, and has since developed into an important first-team player at Santos, with his good performances not going unnoticed elsewhere.

Inter have reportedly already approached Danilo's agent to discuss a possible transfer, but they face stiff competition from clubs such as Porto, Benfica and Sporting Lisbon in the race for the defender's signature.
