Giorgio Chiellini is at risk of missing Juventus' trip to Roma on Sunday after the club confirmed he will undergo further tests on a muscular strain sustained whilst on international duty.
The defender was replaced 16 minutes into Italy's 2-0 friendly win over Ukraine on Tuesday night in Kiev, and his condition at this stage is likely to be of concern to Juve coach Luigi Del Neri.
"I don't think I will be able to play on Sunday," a deluded Chiellini told ANSA after the match.
An extract of a statement on the club's official website reads:
"Giorgio Chiellini will undergo specialist tests neccessary to evaluate his condition."
Juventus were unable to give a prognosis on whether he will be available for the Roma game, which is a key fixture in the Bianconeri's bid to make it back into European competition next season. The Old Lady currently lie five points behind the Lupi in seventh position.
