Napoli defender Andrea Dossena says his side crumbled in the second half of their clash against Milan on Monday night.
But the former Liverpool left-back believes there are still 11 matches to go, and the fans can still expect their side to fight for the Scudetto despite losing to one of the title contenders.
"We tried to keep up the pace, but were unable to," the stopper told Tuttomercatoweb after the match. "In the first half, they were unable to score, but in the second half, we crumbed under the pressure.
"They were clinical, and we knew it was not going to be easy, but there should not be any dramas from our end. There are still 33 points to claim, and 11 matches to play. We are still in the hunt to win everything.
"We must use all our might, espeically with the support of our fans."
Dossena looked ahead to the next fixture both sides play, with the Azzurri taking on Brescia whilst Milan face Juventus.
"Looking at the calendar, Milan has Juve whilst we have Brescia. It will not be easy for either side."
The left-back also denied the side needed Ezequiel Lavezzi in the squad in order to win matches.
"Lavezzi is a great player and gives us a lot. His plays are important to us but we not find any excuses, as we have previously won matches without him," he concluded.
