According to a report in Tuttosport, struggling Serie A giants Juventus are considering making a move for experienced Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano in the summer transfer window.
The Turin outfit have been in disappointing form this season and are likely to miss out on Champions League qualification, therefore sporting director Giuseppe Marotta is eager to add some high profile names to the squad this summer.
The Old Lady have previously been linked with players such as Michel Bastos and Alexis Sanchez, and now Mascherano has joined the list of potential signings.
The 26-year-old joined Barcelona from Liverpool last summer, but has so far failed to live up the expectations at the Catalan giants.
The Argentina skipper seems to have lost the battle for a starting berth to Sergio Busquets, and could therefore be on his way out again at the end of the season.
His current contract with Barcelona runs until the summer of 2014, but the Blaugrana are reportedly ready to let go of the midfielder if a suitable offer comes in.
