As Lazio slowed down in the march to secure fourth place following a 1-0 defeat away to Cagliari this afternoon, Aquile coach Edy Reja bemoaned bad luck as the reason behind his side’s first loss in six rounds.
“We played a great game today,” he declared to SkySport.
“In the first half my men dominated the play but were unable to carve out enough scoring chances.
“Cagliari had a half chance and they scored from their first move forward.
“There is no way to describe this loss other than unlucky.
“For sure we didn’t test their goalkeeper as much as I would have liked but my side definitely didn’t deserve to lose.
“Now we must look ahead. Our position in the standings is still a positive one but the competition from the likes of Udinese is very much alive.
“We must continue to work hard week by week and not get downbeat after such results, given the positive manner in which we played today.”
