Leonardo believes that Monday's clash between Milan and Napoli will not settle the championship...Inter coach Leonardo believes that Monday night's clash between Milan and Napoli at San Siro will not settle the race for the Serie A title and wants his team to bounce back from the midweek defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The Nerazzurri travel to Genoa to face Sampdoria on Sunday and speaking at the pre-match press conference on Saturday, Leonardo said, "The next few games, the next three or four, will be very important as they'll give us a better idea of which teams are really in the race for the Scudetto, although this year I think things will go on as they are until the end. It will go down to the wire.
"Milan v Napoli? I don't think that one match can change the outcome of this competition, even if it ends in the draw."
The Champions League winners were ousted 1-0 at home by Bayern Munich on Wednesday and the Brazilian does not want that result to affect his team's Serie A form.
He said, "We lost a game against Bayern Munich but that doesn't mean we have to start over; just continue what we've been doing.
"It's important that we stay focused on our targets and don't lose sight of our league target; that mustn't change.
"The game [against Sampdoria] won't be easy also considering the atmosphere and the pitch there. Sampdoria have lost some important players and lots of things have changed for them - different individuals, a different playing system - but one thing they haven't lost is the spirit that helped them qualify for the Champions League."
